This is a really exciting event and I am delighted to support it.  That one man dies every hour from prostate cancer is both terrible and arguably an unknown statistic so I would encourage all of you to sign up to raise awareness of this fact and vital funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity

Lawrence DallaglioProstate cancer is the most common cancer in men, all men should be aware of this.  I am fully in support of the Real Man Cycling Challenge, it will be a great event in highlighting this disease to men.

I think this is an excellent opportunity for men in the city to do something useful. Women are much better at mobilising to work on womens health issues, breast cancer being the obvious one -walking around London in the middle of the night wearing a bra. I’m not suggesting we do that by any means but men can do more for each other on issues like this.

You can get on your bike or you can dig deep or ideally you can do both… that’s what I’ll be doing.

I’m delighted to be an ambassador for the Real Man Cycling Challenge. It’s great that there is now an event for men alongside the Moonwalk and Race for Life. Prostate Cancer needs a lot more awareness from men in this country and I will be getting on my bike in September to help this campaign.

Cycling is an excellent way of keeping fit and getting men involved in raising awareness in prostate cancer. The Real Man Cycling Challenge proves to be a great initiative in raising vital funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity to fight the most common cancer in men today.

The plans to develop this into an annual event to compare to other major sporting events on London’s calendar is extremely exciting.

My father died of prostate cancer when he was 76, but if he had known more about the disease, he might be alive today. So, I know from personal experience the devastating effect that prostate cancer can have on the lives of men and their families.

I am delighted to be involved in the Real Man Cycling Challenge. This landmark event promises to be a memorable occasion for participants and supporters alike. Prostate cancer has been a much neglected and underfunded disease. The work that The Prostate Cancer Charity is doing both in supporting men and their families living with prostate cancer, to funding research into the disease will benefit enormously from your support. The fact that cycling, as a sport, can bring people together for such an important event fills me with great pride and I, for one, cannot wait for 14th September.

We’re not looking to win it necessarily but 35k between four people on a relatively flat, car-free environment will be great. It’ll be a real privilege to be part of something really exciting

This is what men do: we don’t talk about out problems, I didn’t take any notice until my legs started to swell and my belly started to swell - I thought I was just putting on weight. I had seven weeks of radiotherapy, five days a week, and I came through. I still ride my bike five times a week and I think it helped me get over my problems.
